A Brief History of Good News Lutheran Brethren Church

During the summer of 1994, local believers joined together in the interest of forming a congregation affiliated with the Lutheran Brethren denomination. On September 11, 1994, the first worship service was held at the Community Building in McAlisterville. In October, Good News called its first pastor. On April 2, 1995, the church officially joined the Church of the Lutheran Brethren and soon after began meeting at the Juniata Mennonite School.

Groundbreaking for the building across the road from East Juniata High School took place on March 26, 2000 and the first service there was held on August 27, 2000.
